The Day Everyone Wore Black

Updated: Apr 4

Today was an interesting day. I went with my mother to the psychologist's office, where something quite unusual caught my eye. As we arrived early for our appointment, we found ourselves surrounded by women dressed in black.

It started with the lady at the front desk, who welcomed us with a smile while wearing her black shirt, trousers, and headset. She then began asking questions and asked us to take a seat.

My mother and I sat across from a lady diligently filling out forms in her black trousers, puffed blouse, and matching black bag by her side. Then, a young woman in her twenties, dressed entirely in black except for her white shoes, and another lady in black and white overall arrived.

And there I was with my mother; we were also wearing black from head to toe. It was as if we had all unconsciously agreed on a dress code for the day. I couldn't help but wonder about the significance of it all. Was black just a coincidence, or did it symbolize something deeper, like a shared feeling of stress or grief?

I chuckled to myself, imagining making a joke about the room getting darker with each new arrival. But in the end, I kept my thoughts to myself, sensing a certain solemnity in the air - a silent understanding among strangers bound by a common purpose.

As I sat down for my session with the psychologist, I couldn't shake the feeling of connection with these women despite our differences. It was a reminder of the shared humanity that unites us all - a reminder that even in our darkest moments, we are not alone.

Leaving the psychologist's office, I couldn't help but reflect on the beauty of our shared experiences—the subtle gestures and unspoken bonds that connect us all. And in that moment, I felt a sense of hope—that even amid uncertainty, there is light to be found in the company of others.
