Virtually Conquering Territories with State.io Conquer the World

Updated: Apr 4

state.io

State.io Conquer the World offers a thrilling online 2D real-time strategy experience, where the ultimate objective is to assert dominance over all territories in the region. Developed by Casual Azur Games, this game is freely accessible with in-app purchases and is compatible across various platforms, including iOS, Android, and web browsers. Launched initially on Android devices in November 2020, followed by iOS in March 2021, and eventually reaching web browsers by October 2022, it has garnered a diverse player base.

There are two engaging versions of the game available. In the PVP rank mode, players vs. against each other to ascend the leaderboard. Alternatively, there's a mode where players can test their strategies against computer-controlled opponents.

Game Mechanics

At the onset, players are endowed with a set number of units based on their level and are allocated a territory on the map. The number of units in a controlled territory increases over time, contingent upon the player's level and the unit production speed.

The primary goal is to seize additional territories by deploying available units from owned territories towards enemy or neutral territories. If the invading units outnumber the defenders, control of the territory is gained. However, units lose numbers if they intersect while en route to their destinations.

The game concludes either when all territories are conquered or when all of a player's units are eliminated.

Game Controls

On web browsers, players utilize the left-click, hold, and drag function to move units between territories on the map. Conversely, a simple tap, hold, and drag gesture accomplishes the same task on smart devices.

Game Levels

Victories in ranked games reward players with blue stars and coins, which can be multiplied by viewing brief advertisements. Accumulating blue stars aids in climbing the leaderboard ranks. Notably, the lowest rank is Bronze 1, and I currently hold the Ruby rank.

Coins earned post-win can be invested in upgrading starting units and enhancing unit production rates.

Game graphics and audio

Featuring a simplistic 2D world map design, State.io Conquer the World delivers a visually straightforward gaming experience. Advertisements intermittently disrupt gameplay, yet opting for an in-app purchase can eliminate these interruptions.

Players can personalize their army units and territory markings by unlocking skins, levelling up, and watching ads. Additionally, communication with fellow players is facilitated through emojis.

The game is accompanied by a subtle bubble sound effect for unit movements, which complements the background ambience. These audio settings are customizable within the game application.

A Personal game strategy

  • Secure an optimal location for your primary base and fortify it early on to fend off adversaries effectively.

  • Refrain from following initial suggestions, as they may lead to unfavourable encounters or inefficient territorial conquests.

  • Exercise caution before initiating attacks, prioritizing observation to prevent conflicts over territories.

  • Maintain agility by consistently expanding your territorial control and optimizing unit deployment for defence or offence.

  • Regularly invest in upgrades to bolster your starting units and expedite unit production, ensuring a competitive edge over opponents.

Conclusion

As a fan of defence strategy games, I found State.io Conquer the World to be a delightfully engaging experience. However, the frequent advertisements proved a minor nuisance, prompting me to skip them whenever possible. While an ad-free option is available through in-app purchases, as a casual player, I prefer to enjoy the game during my leisure time without additional expenses.

While the game offers enjoyable communication through emojis, I believe diversifying emotive expressions could enhance player interaction. Redirecting focus towards in-app purchases for game cosmetics and expanding emoticon options could further enrich the gaming experience.
